All we know about the Cross family is that they lived for a few years in Old Kilpatrick, Scotland. Oddly, there was also a William Cross who lived there who changed his name to William Cross Buchanan (took his wife's last name) who would have been around the same age as our oldest known ancestor. We have been unable to make a connection thus far. 

 

Our ancestors came to the U.S. in about 1834 from Scotland. We have tried unsuccessfully to locate the ship that they crossed the Atlantic in; we now believe that they swam!!!

 

We believe that they arrived in New York, and then they moved to Wisconsin. After that time, we lose most of them.
